Safe & Sound Week 2026 will take place August 10-16 in California and across the country, highlighting the importance of workplace safety and health programs that proactively identify and correct hazards before workers are harmed.

Organized annually by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Safe & Sound Week encourages employers to strengthen workplace safety programs that help prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. According to OSHA, proactive workplace safety programs are far more effective than reactive approaches that only address hazards after an injury, illness, inspection, or regulatory action occurs. OSHA and Cal/OSHA emphasize that effective safety and health programs can help employers:
