LA Testing is capable of detecting and enumerating fecal Streptococcus in drinking water, groundwater or surface water using a membrane filtration method.

The membrane filtration technique involves a direct plating and estimation of fecal Strep densities. The fecal Strep density is reported as membrane filtration count per 100-mL.
